I just finished a 6.475km running that lasted about 0hh:39mm:10ss !
A week and a half ago I managed to hurt my back whilst shifting a sack of flour. I was pretty painful for a while and even walking was hard, but it has improved a lot since then. I did a few strength exercises and did a bit of swimming in our pool. I did a fair bit of walking at the end of last week and it gradually got better. I had been keen to get out running again and decided to go for it today.
I was feeling pretty good as I set off, but was prepared to walk back if it got bad. I was not going for speed and just went with what felt okay. That turned out to be around 6min/km, which I found quite easy.
It is a nice morning with largely blue skies, but not especially warm. The weather has turned a bit cooler in the last week, but it can warm up during the day if the sun stays out. I still prefer to get my run done before then.
On the way out there was a guy running on the other side of the road, but I was not going to try and keep up with him. You have to go with your own pace, especially when recovering from injury. I made it all the way to Stotfold, then turned back and took the longer loop past the church.
I was aware that my back is not completely healed, but it was not painful. I will keep easing myself back into running and wait until it feels better before I ramp up the speed and effort. I still want to do a half marathon this month, but that can wait a while.
Run free and stay well.
