I woke up later than usual, and the sun was coming out slowly when I checked the weather. But when I looked at my clock, I knew I still had a few more minutes for a quick run. Despite waking up late, I still did my warm-up and started running.
After warming up, I hit the road and could already see other people walking, biking, and heading into town. Plus, I noticed the sky getting brighter with each passing minute.
I started running faster than my pace, and my heart rate started pumping fast too. I'm glad I bought a smartwatch to monitor my heart rate while running, since it tells me when I need to rest or keep going. It really helps a lot.
I was already at my 2nd kilometer when I noticed the sun coming up faster. I checked my watch; it was 6:00, and I needed to get back because I still had to prepare for work. Even though I would want to push through, I turned back and started running at home. I could also feel my foot muscles were sore and warm. I also had sweat all over my body, which felt good.
When I was almost home, I noticed I'd already run 3 kilometers, which made me happy even though I didn't hit 5 km. I was drenched in sweat, and even though I still craved kilometers, I was already cooling down.
It's still a nice, quick morning run before I get ready for work. I feel great having my body warm and sweaty before I start the day productively.
