I'm very excited by a series of Tweets by one of my favourite ever podcasts. Six String Bliss consisted of a couple of guys just talking about guitars and music. It evolved into a community based around their forum. Members of that community got involved in the show and produced numerous albums of covers and original songs.
After a gap of a few years it looks like the show is coming back!

I discovered this show when they had done about 140 shows, but I've since gone back and listened to all of them. I made a lot of friends there and it inspired me to get into recording music myself so that I could participate in the albums. I had songs featured on the show and did some other segments for it. I've met several of the guys. Some of us flew over to Hamburg to meet someone there are tour the local guitar stores and go to a gig. When the guy from Germany came to London we did the stores there. I talk on-line to some of the folk in the US and I've met another in Sydney Australia. 
Many musical collaborations came out of this community. Some virtual bands emerged where the members never actually got together to play. The internet makes this possible. This is one example where about ten of us worked on a song. I got to do the lead vocals.
So far Pipes and PT have been teasing us with hints, but this does say "is returning soon".
