El Maestro Luis Ochoa - Referencia Internacional de la Guitarra Venezolana.
En cada rincón de Venezuela hay personas que han hecho cosas increíbles y que son poco conocidas, artístas, deportistas, científicos, personajes en la cotidianidad... Hay una persona que nunca llegué a conocer en vida pero que admiro muchísimo su obra musical, vivió gran parte de su vida en Maracay y es para mí un referente de la música Aragüeña y Venezolana, hablo del Maestro Luis Ochoa.
Este personaje ha influenciado muchísimo mi forma de ver la música ya que al ver su trayectoria y la calidad artística de sus obras puedo asegurar que esta al nivel de cualquier compositor de renombre internacional, para algunos él fue una especie de "Beethoven de la Guitarra Venezolana".
Desgraciadamente como pasa a menudo en la historia y en la cotidianidad de mi país, estos personajes pasan desapercibidos por el caos en que vivimos los venezolanos sumado a eso el desinterés colectivo por la historia interna de nuestra nación, pero es muy importante reconocer a nuestros héroes cotidianos, aquellos que luchan por dejar un legado y construir una mejor sociedad.
Las Variaciones Lumière - Obra Maestra para Cuarteto de Guitarras.
Uno de las obras guitarrísticas más impresionantes para mí son "Las Variaciones Lumière", homenaje a los hermanos Lumière quienes fueron pioneros del Séptimo Arte, en pocas palabras, fueron los inventores del "Cine" a finales del siglo XIX.
Hoy en día estoy desempolvando esas partituras y pasandolas a un formato digital porque planeo montar esta Obra que consta de 6 temas con 3 variaciones de cada una más un final fugado, para eso he decidido apoyarme en la tecnología para crear vídeos guía para los integrantes del ensamble.
Esta obra no es tarea fácil porque contiene 6 estilos musicales distintos que son representativos del Cine, en este primer tema se expone la música con el aire de los Inicios Cinematográficos, es algo increíble que 4 guitarras puedan generar esa sensación, personalmente cuando escucho esto me imagino el cine mudo, con la música incidental de cada escena.
Dicho lo anterior expuesto, no soy propietario intelectual de la Obra "Las Variaciones Lumière" hago esta publicación con el propósito de difundir la obra del Maestro Luis Ochoa.
Master Luis Ochoa - International Reference of Venezuelan Guitar
In every corner of Venezuela, there are people who have achieved incredible things yet remain largely unknown—artists, athletes, scientists, everyday figures... There is someone I never got to meet in person during his lifetime, but whose musical work I admire deeply. He lived much of his life in Maracay and, to me, represents a true benchmark of Araguan and Venezuelan music: I am talking about Master Luis Ochoa.
This figure has greatly influenced the way I perceive music. Looking at his career and the artistic quality of his works, I can confidently say he stands alongside any internationally renowned composer. To some, he was a sort of "Beethoven of the Venezuelan Guitar."
Unfortunately, as often happens in our country's history and daily reality, these individuals go unnoticed due to the chaos in which we live, compounded by a collective disinterest in our nation's internal history. However, it is vital to recognize our everyday heroes—those who strive to leave a legacy and build a better society.
The Lumière Variations - Masterpiece for Guitar Quartet
One of the most impressive guitar works in my opinion is "The Lumière Variations," a tribute to the Lumière brothers, who were pioneers of the Seventh Art—in short, the inventors of cinema in the late 19th century.
Currently, I am dusting off those scores and converting them into a digital format, as I plan to rehearse and perform this piece. It consists of 6 themes with 3 variations each, plus a fugal finale. To achieve this, I have decided to rely on technology to create guide videos for the ensemble members.
This work is no easy task because it incorporates 6 distinct musical styles representative of film history. In this first theme, the music captures the spirit of Early Cinema. It is incredible how four guitars can evoke that feeling; personally, when I listen to it, I picture silent films accompanied by live incidental music for each scene.
That being said, I am not the intellectual property owner of "The Lumière Variations." I am sharing this post solely to help spread and preserve the legacy of Master Luis Ochoa.
