These are indeed 'interesting times'.This week the r/wallstreetbets communitty on reddit managed to pump the stocks of a US games retailer, which spoilt the plans of investors who planned to 'short' them. I do not play the stock markets, but I have learnt a little of how these things work thanks to this story. These activities can be seen as 'sticking it to the man', but a lot of the funds who are losing out are working for small investors. In the end the brokers and bankers tend to not lose anyway.

It seems the Robin Hood trading app has acted to stop their game. They may have moved their focus to Dogecoin as that has gone up 600% this week!

Some are hoping they could do the same for HIVE, but that seems short-sighted to me. We do not need 'pump and dump' that does not give us long-term improvements. I want to see HIVE go up due to actual improved value rather than speculation.

HIVE has been creeping up recently. I really want to see it overtake STEEM as we know that has been corrupted.

The Hive sites have already overtaken Steemit for visitor activity according to Hypestat. Both peakd and hive.blog get less visitors, but they get far more page views. People on Hive actually engage with others and do not just 'shitpost' for votes.

Keep sharing your posts around on other platforms. We need people to see there is good content here. It is easy for people to get accounts now via [LeoFinance] or [(https://leofinance.io/) or Hive On Board.

Here are some #FollowFriday suggestions for you. katharsisdrill@katharsisdrill pointed me at some artists who joined up in the last year.

  • damoclesart@damoclesart does some great fantasy art.
  • osak@osak does amazingly detailed work.
  • kitzune@kitzune seems more into comic art. We can welcome more of that here.
  • Photographer and model bettynoir@bettynoir joined a few years ago, but has returned after some time away from Hive. It is good to see people come back. It may not always be about the money as people have other things going on in their lives. Engagement with posts helps keep them coming back.

I am constantly on the look-out for more Brits to include in my monthly list posts. I have seen some come back and I spot some on the Brits discord channel. Let me know of any you find. You can also give your own #FollowFriday suggestions in the comments, or do your own post.
