This has been a rocky year for crypto. A few hacks and scandals stir things up and shake the faith of the speculators. I have plotted some prices over the year and it does not look that great for $HIVE. If I had plotted against $BTC it would be better as that has dropped too. It is up to each of us to decide what is worth investing both time and money in. $HBD has been a good bet for many who have had decent income from savings whilst it stayed at $1.
I am earning from Hive every day, so I cannot complain. I keep building my stake.
There may have been less going on in recent weeks as people take a break. The guys at the Cryptomaniacs podcast have kept putting out shows. I get a lot of news from those as well as insightful interviews with people in the community.
This is the last #FollowFriday of they year. I have missed a few weeks, but I hope it has been useful to those featured as well as those who read it.
I will feature a few people, but I would love you to say who has been the stand-out Hivian who you found this year, however that happened. It is people that make this platform special.
I started doing this section of these posts a while back. We do need to be aware of when abuse is happening on Hive so it can be dealt with before it gets out of control. Wherever money is involved people will try to cheat the system. Some things are a matter of opinion, but we can all agree that impersonation and plagiarism are wrong. Those who attack members of the community may also find they do less well.
I would also say that it is wrong to just take from Hive. Although lots more people have joined the levels of activity has not grown massively over this year. We all benefit if Hive grows as more good posts add value and people appreciate getting some feedback on what they put out. We can each help by spreading our votes around, commenting (and not just 'nice post') as well as talking about Hive on other social media and to those we meet. We need to get a buzz going around it. The name Hive is not ideal as it clashes with other things, but we can inform others when they confuse it with different platforms.
You can do something for Hive, even if it is just bringing in one more person who will be active. I know there can be some issues with getting them set up, but I and others can create lots of accounts. We may just lack the time to mentor new users, so you can help with that. We all know how confusing it can be at first.
Sorry if this comes across as a rant, but I do feel strongly that we could be doing more.
I hope you all had a good Christmas (if you do it) and that your 2023 will be prosperous. Hive can be part of that. I really believe that you get out of it what you put in. What will you do?
Happy new year!
