Hello my fellow Splinterlands Warriors,

Welcome back to another amazingly amazing Splinterlands post, and I hope you all are doing pretty well in your lives and enjoying an energetic and thrilling day with your family and friends. Now, for those of you who are actively engaging in this Web3 card-based strategy game, I hope you are actively playing in this ongoing ranked and frontier season as well. However, we have only 3 hours and 40 minutes left before this season ends, so it is almost time to wrap things up! I have decided to stop playing ranked battles for this season, and I will try again to reach 4000 trophies next season. I also hope all of you have also reached your goals, whether it is to enter a particular league tier or a place in the top champion leaderboard, but if not, it is time to go for one last push if you are already to close to your goal.

As for my current game progress, I am currently in the Gold I league with 3850 trophies. Although I could not reach my 4000 trophy target this time, I am happy with the progress I made. I will now wait for the next season and try to push beyond this mark. Hopefully, the next season will give me a better opportunity to reach my goal and then aim for the leaderboard. Now moving on to the weekly raffle, I currently have 39 entries, and there are 2 days and 2 hours left before it ends. My target is to collect between 54 and 57 entries. I still have some work to do to reach that goal, so I will keep collecting entries and see how close I can get before the deadline.

Today is my 166th consecutive day of spinning the frontier wheel in Splinterlands, and I received 200 + 50 Sparks from today's wheel. My total Sparks balance has now reached 25154. Keeping this streak alive is my side mission and a small daily achievement in my journey, and I will continue collecting daily rewards as I move into the next ranked season.

Today, I also opened 6 Foundation packs that I earned over the last two days in Frontier mode. This time, I received 1 Epic card, 4 Rare cards, including 1 Archon, and the rest were Common cards. Getting an Epic and an Archon in the same pack-opening session is always nice, and I will keep collecting rewards and opening packs whenever I have enough available.

Grix

Now moving on to today's featured monster, let us take a closer look at another interesting monster from the newest Extra Edition card set. As you have already seen in the title above, today we will be discussing Grix, a little dual-attack monster that brings both Melee and Magic attacks to the battlefield. So, if you are interested in knowing more about this small but interesting monster and its abilities, then let's take a deep dive without any further ado.

Grix is a monster type card that was first released in splinterlands with the launch of the newest extra edition cards. This monster has a mana cost of just 3, making it a very affordable monster to include in your lineup when playing low to medium mana limit matches, including the ones with the Little Leagues ruleset. Grix is a Legendary type monster, so you will need 11 CC to reach its maximum level. Despite its low cost, it can attack using both Melee and Magic, which gives it an interesting combination of offensive capabilities. At maximum level, it has four battle abilities that provide support to its allies, attract enemy attacks, increase team Speed, and even allow it to resurrect itself once per battle. Let us now take a look at its stats and abilities at each league level.

BRONZE

At Level 1, Grix possesses 1 Melee attack, 1 Magic attack, 2 Speed, and 1 Health. Its Health is extremely low, so you need to be careful about how you use this monster. However, it brings an interesting ability even at its starting level.

BLOODLINE TRIBUTE – When defeated, all allied units sharing this monster's bloodline gain +1 Speed, +1 Armor, +1 Health, and +1 Power to each shared attack type.

SILVER

At Level 2, Grix possesses 1 Melee attack, 1 Magic attack, 2 Speed, and 2 Health. Its Health increases by one point, although it remains a fragile monster.

TAUNT – Draws the attacks of enemy units. Does not affect Reach, Scattershot, Wingbreak, or enemy units in the first position.

GOLD

At Level 3, Grix possesses 1 Melee attack, 1 Magic attack, 3 Speed, and 3 Health. Its Speed and Health both increase, making it a little more durable and faster than before.

SWIFTNESS – Gives +1 Speed to all allied units.

DIAMOND / CHAMPION

At Level 4, Grix possesses 1 Melee attack, 1 Magic attack, 3 Speed, and 4 Health. Its Health increases to 4, while its other stats remain unchanged from the previous level.

REBIRTH – Self-resurrects once per battle with 1 Health and 100% Armor. All Magic debuffs are removed and all Magic buffs are reapplied. The resurrected unit skips its turn.

My Opinion About the Monster

In my opinion, Grix is a very interesting monster when we consider its mana cost of just 3. It brings both Melee and Magic attack power, gains more Health as it levels up, and unlocks four battle abilities by max level that can benefit the entire team. It may not have impressive stats at its starting level, but the combination of abilities makes it worth considering for low to medium mana limit matches. The first ability, Bloodline Tribute, is particularly useful when you build a team around the same bloodline. When Grix is defeated, allied units sharing its Saurian bloodline gain +1 Speed, +1 Armor, +1 Health, and +1 Power to each shared attack type. This means Grix can still support its teammates even after it leaves the battlefield. Next, we have Taunt, which attracts enemy attacks towards Grix. This can help protect other allied monsters by drawing attacks away from them. However, Grix has relatively low Health, even at higher levels, so it may not be ideal to rely on it as a tank against opponents with heavy attacks. Next, Swiftness is another ability I like because it gives +1 Speed to every allied unit, which supports the rest of the team by helping all allied monsters become faster. Finally, Rebirth gives Grix another chance after it is defeated. It resurrects once per battle with 1 Health and 100% Armor, while removing Magic debuffs and reapplying Magic buffs. The resurrected unit skips its turn, but it still gets another opportunity to remain in the battle.

Overall, I think Grix offers a lot for a 3-Mana monster. Its dual attack types give it decent offensive flexibility, while Bloodline Tribute and Swiftness support allied units, taunt can help redirect enemy attacks, and Rebirth adds another layer of survivability at maximum level. For such a small mana investment, Grix brings several useful tools to the battlefield and I don't think you will be disappointed in it when using in battles.

I hope you enjoyed reading my post about Grix. Let me know your thoughts about today's post in the comments section below, and I look forward to seeing you all in my next post.
