There is no better way to gain a deep understanding of something than through examples—sometimes you learn by observing the examples set by others, and at other times, you yourself must become the example. Just two minutes ago, I played a battle in which my opponent displayed a level of foolishness that, at this stage of the game, I found truly unbelievable. They didn't seem like a novice player either; their 'Archan' was upgraded to the maximum level, and several other cards were upgraded to levels 3 or 4. Yet, due to sheer foolishness—or perhaps overconfidence—they failed to realize that their opponent would easily survive their attacks. Well, take a look for yourself, and see why it is crucial never to take the 'ruleset' of a battle lightly.

The only ruleset for this battle was 'Counterspell,' which grants the 'Magic Reflect' ability to all cards. This ability ensures that 50% of the damage from any magic attack is reflected back onto the attacker. How difficult is this to grasp? You tell me! You simply need to keep in mind that you should either build a team of magic cards equipped with the 'Deflect' ability—since they are protected against 'Magic Reflect'—or avoid using magic cards altogether for this battle. Now, take a look at the cards my opponent selected for this specific battle and ask yourself: how sound was this choice, and what exactly could he have been thinking?

Now, let’s talk about the damage caused. Except for the tank in the front line, all of the opponent’s cards relied on magic attacks. Most of them even attacked before mine did; however, due to the 50% return damage triggered by each of the opponent’s attacks, all of their cards suffered significant damage within the very first round—even before my own cards had a chance to strike. By the time my cards finally launched their attacks, the opponent’s cards were already so weakened that they couldn't withstand even a single hit. It is worth noting that the situation could have played out differently in the opponent’s favor had they summoned magic-based cards with higher health and armor; in that scenario, using magic might have actually been advantageous. Instead, the opponent chose weak cards—and, to make matters worse, opted for an attack type that was destined to suffer the most due to the specific ruleset. I hope this example helps you improve your gameplay.

Splinterlands isn't an easy place, but that's what makes it even more fun. A perfect strategy takes into account many factors, including stats, abilities, rulesets, mana caps, and more. That's why it's even more important to consider all these factors when developing a strategy. Add good cards to your deck, but also work on improving your strategies, and strive to win as many battles as possible!🔥
