The News

I wrote yesterday about how smoothly Hivefork 25 went. The only side-effect I have seen is in the calculation of curation rewards. This has triggered a flood of votes on older posts as those could be lucrative due to pre-hardfork votes getting a lesser share. I advise you to take advantage of this whilst you can.

$HIVE price
Graph from coingecko@coingecko. You can vote it up too.

The $HIVE price is moving up in fits and starts. It did briefly surpass 'the other chain', but that somehow gets support despite the lack of anything of value there. Meanwhile Hive gained more features and has loads of new dapps.

I also noticed we have more whales now. A couple of weeks ago it was 30 and now we have 36. A 20% increase is impressive. I have seen at least one million plus power up yesterday that gave Hive Power Up Day a boost.

Stats
From arcange@arcange post.

The new curation algorithm may make it more worthwhile to seek out small accounts with good content to support them.

Followables

  • I mentioned the phishing that was going on in yesterday's post. One victim was trentonlundy1@trentonlundy1 who lost his original account. This talented musician has been very active in the risingstargame@risingstargame community, but lost all his game cards too. I would hope the community will help him out.
  • arseniclullaby@arseniclullaby keeps coming back to Hive and has a fine interview with a fellow comics artist.
  • Guitarist gtown@gtown invested in some new effects for his latest tune.
  • grindle@grindle has been posting some urban exploration (urbex) pictures from his travels in Estonia.
  • mstafford@mstafford is the creator of the exhaust@exhaust exercise tracking dapp that he uses for his own posts.

The Doghouse

phasewalker@phasewalker seems to struggle with the concept of cross-posting to different communities and does duplicate posts instead. Earning multiple times from the same content is frowned upon as it is likely to be used abusively to mine rewards. He has tried to be sneaky by spacing out the duplicate posts. He also posts the same generic comments a lot. He has been told more than once that these are not acceptable behaviours here. He claimed he was too busy creating content to read comments, but we get to decide if such an unengaged person deserves rewards. nathangraham@nathangraham appears to be the same person and does the same things. It is not like his posts are bad, but they are not making anything either. In most cases that is due to nobody voting on them. Just throwing posts out there is not likely to get you far. You have to put in the work to build a supportive following.

I wonder if he will even see these mentions.

The End

I am keen to see what difference Hardfork 25 makes. I would hope people would consider voting more manually to ensure rewards go to the best content and not just to the 'chosen few'. There is no need to vote really early now, so you can take your time. You can always follow the trail of someone you trust if you do not have time to do that. tenkminnows@tenkminnows is supporting small accounts and they will appreciate your support.

Hive five!
