There's a fascination with old objects. People will pay a lot for something that is beautiful and/or interesting. It's partly that these objects are just not made any more and also they have history. We have various items around the house that belonged to our family and have no intention of selling them. Their value to us is worth more than money. Some may not be worth much on the open market anyway as it's flooded with what people have turned out.
I've been inspired to post some pictures by @onetree who posts some of items she is selling.
This magnifying glass obviously had a lot of use as it's been repaired at some point. It still serves the same purpose today.
I doubt many people use a toasting fork these days. This is a nice extending one and nicely made.
This clock belonged to an ancestor who went missing whilst travelling in Europe about 100 years ago. It's called a Goliath watch. The front and rear glass make it a sphere with a flat spot at the back. They magnify the face and workings.
Our breadboard belonged to my wife's grandmother and still gets daily use.
These things can be hard to date, but this may be a clue on the back of the breadboard. It seems to say 'MD 1897'. That's not proof that it's that old, but still interesting.
