Description from Strava:
A couple of weeks ago I ran some of the Letchworth Garden City greenway and decided to try and do a bit more today. I have to go about 3km just to get on that track and a lot of that is uphill. As before I started off going in the opposite direction to the Greenway half marathon.

I ran through the cemetery by the Wilbury pub. Then it is past the pre-fab bungalows that have some ominous CCTV towers. I presume there have been some crime issues there. This time I did find the turning that takes you onto the track that is away from the houses. That goes up and down a bit. I passed an old couple with a black labrador and just after that the dog ran into me. It did not bite and I just carried on.

After crossing the Hitchin road I turned off onto a track that goes through some woods. I think I missed a turn and ended up on the Willian road that has no footpath. There are some seriously big houses there that I think back onto a golf course. Further down there I was able to get back onto the Greenway, but was not sure which way to go so I took a guess. I was actually then going clockwise around the town and it was more familiar. That did mean going up a long hill and I realised I would probably be going back much the way I came. I went more through the suburbs this time before getting back on the original paths.

I went back through the cemetery and noticed I was passing the grave of Ebenezer Howard who founded the Garden City. It was a radical ideal in town planning at the time, but it created a nice place to live with lots of green space.

I was really tiring by then and drinking a bit from the bottle in my running vest. The last few kilometres were hard. I did walk a bit and that let me recover enough to run again. This ended up as my longest run in a while and almost a half marathon. I was not bothered about extending it to that distance as I was ready for my breakfast. I just had half a banana and some water before I went out. I had the rest of the banana with some raspberries from the garden with my granola.

Have a great Sunday and run free!
