Back on the loop. It seems the sheriff has calmed down with stickering vehicles up in town. From what I’ve heard, it usually only happens one to two times a year. Some out of town individual(s) take advantage of the little car-living community out here, make a mess, leave a mess; and everyone’s gotta clear out for a week or two. Totally understandable; but also shitty because this is how this town operates. We’re also more than willing to clean up after these morally questionable people; although a free place to take other people’s trash would be a really nice addition.
never getting sick of this view
So I pulled myself out of the woods and have been testing the waters up here. Some other local workers are doing the same, and after the excitement surrounding the relay run from here to the coast; we’re gonna be ok.
I planned to kind of “journal” my thoughts and feelings last night as I crowned 75 days sober and living in the van, but around 9pm I felt horrible, out of completely nowhere, and called it a day and laid down. I felt perfectly fine all day beforehand, and I woke up feeling just the same as I usually do in the morning, so I don’t really know what all that was about. Something I ate, maybe. Who knows. Who cares. I’m good now.
So instead I find myself tip tapping on my dirty, cracked phone screen on the bus up the hill to work. It’s been awhile since I’ve taken the bus, unfortunately, but thats mainly due to the previously mentioned not being able to park safely in town. Mark will thank me for not continuing to wear out the new brakes I set them up with, and their gas tank will thank me as well.
random old photos because my phone has been mostly dead the last few days
WELP, I think it’s about time to get a new phone. I started writing the ^above yesterday, and my phone pretty much ceased to work for the rest of the day. It’s been having troubles for quite some time now; but I’ve just been putting it off. I have so many things I need to invest in and this silly little rectangle was pretty low in the list. But, unfortunately, as silly as it is, it’s extremely vital.
Pretty boring couple of days overall.. well maybe not boring; but relaxing and uneventful. I went for the long, winding walk home from work yesterday; down the mountain and through the woods. I ran into someone else on the walk; a rare occurrence on this particular road, and we spent a good hour just shooting the shit on the walk down to Chevron. The guy was a log home builder, and has a wood shop down the hill that he offered use of if I ever wanted to build cabinets or anything for the van. Which I definitely do. The guy was PUMPED on it, and couldn’t believe I got it for only 3 grand. He may or may not have insinuated that the kid who sold it was an “idiot” lmao
I’m cutting this one short as my phone is yet again dying and I am about to hike up the mountain to try to find some snow to play with. Hopefully I’ll get back with some almost-September snow content!
