Today I went to another specialist doctor to see what they knew about what my body is doing. They knew nothing really other than I am really clever for my age going on how well I speak. Well, no dah! I know why I am so good with my language too and that is because I want to do things and I want to be included in things. How does one expect to learn if they don't take part? Maybe it is a parenting thing too because, they include me as much as possible.
Btw, I wasn't wearing this thing on my head today, had a pretty butterfly clip but, you know, memories.
Being included has its pros and cons of course but mostly for me, there are a lot of pros. I get to spend a lot of time with people and I get to have real conversations. I like this even though the conversations aren't always the most fun. Today, was my first trip to the chair of contemplation because I was smashing my plate with a spoon even after I was asked several times to stop. That sounds like a normal two year old thing to do and get away with but, it isn't when you can speak and understand enough to know better.
Daddy (being the bad cop) marched me off to the chair in my room and sat me down for a stern talking to. He explained that if I act up at times when acting up isn't the order of the day, I will be brought to sit and think there alone. I of course asked him if Viski the Dog could stay with me but, he said no, alone. He asked if I wanted to stay there and do some thinking alone now and I said I did not. I had thought enough about it for one day.
I don't mind playing alone and I don't mind sitting alone either but, it isn't as much fun if it is a punishment. Of course, Daddy and Mummy aren't really the punishing types but I do understand there are certain times that a child must listen to parents and if there isn't a tone of voice from a parent that can command a stop when a kid chases a ball onto the road, there may be issues.
I actually have it pretty easy since for the most part, I don't hear those tones of voice that try to force me to do things as normally, even if I am playing up a bit, there is a very long and calm conversation that takes place as we negotiate terms. I have to say, we have some pretty good discussions together about all kinds of things.
Perhaps this is why I speak so well because neither Mummy nor Daddy have ever offered an answer that is flippant just to satisfy me and keep me quiet. They go to sometimes quite extreme lengths to give me the best information they can provide. I soak it all in and one day, they are going to be graded on the quality of information they have provided as I cross-reference it with other sources.
I think their answers will both hold up pretty well under scrutiny though.
