Yesterday I completed the 31 day walking challenge I set for myself during the month of May. I wanted to add movement to my day and test out the whole #Move2Earn space. Plus this gave me the opportunity to capture lots of pics during my walks.
Soooo Many Flowers
Spring was in full bloom so colorful flowers filled my personal timeline. Which brought me joy. Each day added a new 🌸💮🏵️🥀🌻 to my camera roll.
Here is a collage of some of my floral faves.
Tracking My Fitness
So, how did I track my fitness and earn on the blockchain? I downloaded the Actifit app, connected my Hive account, and began walking daily. I am happy to report that even on the days I didn't feel like walking out the door (notice low step counts) that I did it anyway. At a minimum I would walk around a block in my neighborhood. Our blocks are pretty long so at a minimum I would get over 2K steps just from that one burst of movement.
So how much did I walk in May? I'm so glad you asked ;-) Here is a screenshot of my monthlong walks.
In keeping with the purpose of Wednesday Walk here are the pics that best represent my walks as I tracked my step count.
Picture Time!
After the first week I knew I needed to bring in some of my fitness equipment that had gathered dust over the 2+ years of pandemic. So my walking shoes and Apple Watch came to the rescue.
Interestingly enough I wound up not using my Apple Watch after a few days. I've gotten out of the habit of wearing it and my iPhone tracks my activity anyway so it wasn't necessary.
We had a few rainy days and here was a pic from a neighborhood nature trail.
The Lunar Eclipse made for extra excitement. Here is a pic of the moon rising as evening set in before the eclipse later that night.
Now What?
Now that my challenge is over what ever will I do? Well, I have to say it's easy to get hooked on daily walks when #Move2Earn is part of the reward system. Being active is rewarding. Posting my walks is also rewarding. So a win all the way around.
Before this challenge the most walking I would get during the week was when I was posting for #WednesdayWalk. Other than that my work is sedentary. Not anymore. I plan to continue walking and tracking my walks and will share some of my walking adventures for #WednesdayWalks.
