Hello beautiful foodies! This snack or side dish is similar with Manchurian,
Cauliflower 65. It is a south Indian recipe inspired with the popular chicken 65 as they call it. Cauliflower florets are batter fried crispy in masalas and herbs.
This is a delicious snack in an afternoon tea time. But for me I prefer to eat it with fried rice.
I am going to share how I prepare my Cauliflower 65
Ingredients:
Cauliflower 1medium
To make batter
Rice powder 3tbspn
Cornflour 2 tbspn
All purpose flour 2tbson
Semolina 1tbspn
Chili powder 1tspn
Garam masala powder 1/2 tspn
Curry leaves 2sprigs
Green chili 2pcs. Chopped
Lemon juice 2 tbspn
To garnish with onion leaves
Methods:
Beforehand, wash and soak Cauliflower florets in a water with turmeric & salt, to remove pests.
Blanch cauliflower for 1 minute. And soak to a bowl of cold water.
In a container, place all the ingredients under
Batter. Add water gradually
(approx 1/2- 3/4 cup) to make the batter.
Mix, forming a batter that is not too runny or watery
Add in blanch cauliflower florets in batter, mix all florets till well coated. Set aside for 15-30 min.
Deep fry till crispy. Avoid to congest so they won't stick together
Strain for excess oil or use tissue to absorb the excess oil.
And this is it! Ready to eat now.
It may not be very healthy as it is deep fried but this dish is one of my favourite with fried rice.
