Season 192 Splinterlands Report for @seattlea

📖 Introduction

Well this is the first Splinterlands Season report that I have done since the new Modern Brackets were introduced. I picked Champion Division because I was regularly in the top fifty in Modern Champion prior to the new Modern Brackets introduction.

So what is my take so far? I know I shouldn't judge by the first season as it was a real grind to get up from the very bottom and get to the more reasonable brackets and rating. But I must say the feeling was not great so far. It felt like the same tough grind against professional Splinterlands players (aka scholars) and really tough bots once I got into Division 3.

I did stay at the third division through the whole season as I came within one win from advancing to second division and the would fall back. My SPS earnings also suffered as I had to grind up from zero rating, hopefully this season it will not be as bad.

Above you see my current season and my previous season. As you can see my previous season didn't go as well as usual and after three season in the Modern Top 50 I barely made it into the Leaderboard in Modern Champion last season.

If you look at my performance I only made it into league 3 in the Modern Champion bracket, but despite that I made it into the Modern Champion leaderboard at a position 69. My win rate also improved from 51.5% to 56.5% but that was clearly helped by the lower level bots at the start of the season.

The one place where the difference was really clear is Modern Ranked SPS earnings, not only you didn't see any SPS from your wins until the end of the season, the amount of SPS dropped from 6,214.461 SPS tokens to 3,333 SPS tokens as you can see from the tables above and below.

Basically I was able to earn about half the SPS of what I did last season in Modern.

I continue to accumulate merits, but there is no use case for those in the game for me as all of my gladiator cards are maxed out for almost a year now.

Glint is the most important token after SPS for me as it allows me to build up my rewards card collection and my legendary reward cards are finally starting to become useful at the modern Champion level.

I got a nice number of Ultimate reward chests thanks to advancement through the divisions, unfortunately it will not be as many advancements this season. But as usual my chest were not very lucky.
