Today was all about performance testing. We ran our website with throughput of 2,300+ requests per second on four content delivery servers each with thirty two gigabytes of memory.
And that was for production. We also tested our Stage environment which had no CDN in front of it and the result was drastically different. While 2,300+ requests per second was not our maximum throughput in production, our stage environment maxed out at around four hundred fifty requests per second.
Splinterlands season just finished up and it was the first season with Modern league brackets. While I am going to post a more detailed analysis report tomorrow I can already see a few big differences in the Modern Champion bracket.
First of all instead of my usual Champion One and 4300+ rating I finished up at only 3200 rating and in third division at Diamond. I know that Splinterlands said to give it a few seasons before really making a judgement, but that reset to a zero rating was drastic.
Also, another big difference is that you don't get your SPS token rewards after each battle like we were used to, but instead you get all of your splintershards at the end of the season. Probably due to the rating reset to zero and a long climb back up I got only about half of the SPS rewards that I am used to for the season.
Hopefully this season I am starting at two thousand and will be able to earn more reward shares that will result in SPS earnings closer to what we used to get. SPS seems to have backed off a little with the rest of the crypto.
