Being is what makes us a complete and fortunate human being, if one is wicked there's nothing to gain in it and this is what actually helped bro. Ayo, the gas man on our street. This brother was known for his good heart and his accommodating spirit was second to none. In fact, this brother is just an epitome of love and humility.
I was at his shop one day and I saw how people were relating with him, some were even shouting at him to do fast, but his quietness was shocking to me as he would not respond to the shout or the noise of others, unlike me who would not tolerate nonsense from anyone.
When I saw him not responding to anyone's noise of embarrassment, I thought and soliloquies within me saying,
“No wonder people are trooping to this man's shop.”
Aside from his quietness, his love for kids and toddler is second to none as you would always find kids around him who he would be buying things such as sweets, biscuits and even toys for. This alone used to attract kids to his side.
As for who has none of his traits, I really wish to covet all these traits, but one thing is that as much as I tried to, I get irritated by what and how people behave, in fact we are just the direct opposite to each other.
However, after spending like 3 years on the same street with this man, bro. Ayo, I relocated to another city and this was because of me trying to find something new to do as I was tired of my former city where there was no space for me to venture into my agric business.
Although, when I informed bro. Ayo of my plan to leave the city of Ibadan to Osogbo in Osun state, he was not that happy as he told me saying,
“Mr Sam, how I wish you to stay here and look for something else to do, you can even venture into the same business I'm into.” “Bro. Ayo, I would have loved to stay if not for the fact that there's no place here and not even about that alone, but because of my passion for farming and rearing animals, there's nothing else I can do aside from these two that I have mentioned to you sir,” I replied. “But we can as well look for a space here,” he said.
However, because of my mind being made up, I rejected the offer of staying back at Ibadan and opted for going to Osogbo in Osun state to venture into my long term dream of agric business.
After a while in Osun state, my business began to boom and fortune was really smiling at me and my agric business, I began to thrive and people began to patronise me and I was really happy. I was living from hand to mouth back then and can now afford anything that I wanted. In fact, it was a dream come through for me.
Every morning, I used to thank my star for not yielding to bro. Ayo advice as I believed that, had it been that I have yielded to his advice, maybe I would not have found myself in this current position. I have found myself where fortune is currently smiling at me.
On a particular while I was on the farm supervising the activities of my employee, I received a call from a foreign number on my phone, although, I have series of people outside the country, but one thing is that, I have the contact of all of them including my customers who are outside saved on my phone contact.
When I saw this call, I was a bit reluctant to answer the call as I was asking myself who the caller might be, but I summoned courage to answer the call and immediately I answered the call, it's the familiar voice of bro. Ayo pierced through my ear as his voice was a known voice to my ears.
So, instead of asking him who was speaking, the question that came to me was that,
“Bro. Ayo, how did you do it?”
When heard me asking this question, he burst into laughter and said that,
“It's the Lord's doing and it's marvellous in his sight.”
He continued to narrate to me how one parents of the children that used to visit him at the shop helped him in the journey of his life and that it's Toluwalope’s that gave him the opportunity to travel along with them to the United States when her daughter Toluwalope insisted that she will not be travelling with her parents to the United States unless they take along with them, Bro. Ayo.
When I heard this, I was kind of shocked as I couldn't believe my ears, but one thing that I know is that with God all things are possible and that it's even good to be kind and thank God Bro. Ayo has reaped the fruit of his kindness. I was so happy for this brother's change in fortune and I kindly advised him not to change his good character.
