Greetings!
When I saw the topic in the Hive learners community, the first thing that came to my mind was that beautiful song that we used to sing towards the end of the term and the song is, “Holiday is coming…” I believe we of this generation knows much about this song which was so common amongst us in our days.
Having talked so much about the song about the holidays in our own time, I would like to delve into the topic of prompt which is all about, “Holiday season.”
The holiday season is one of the seasons that I love so much and this is because of the rest and comfort that comes with it.
As for me, in this coming holiday season, I'm looking forward to going back home and joining my family and friends. I have been working for almost 8 months here on the sea as a marine engineer without setting my eyes on my family members and I have been missing them a lot.
So, joining them at home would be my first and major thing I'm looking forward to when the holiday season comes. So, my plan is that when I get home, I would be going to places with them just to enjoy myself together with my family members.
The first thing I will do is to use the first week of my holiday to rest very well. I will make sure that I take my time to rest without any disturbance and visitation and this is because I need to take a rest from the hectic and stress of our work.
So, I'm looking forward to using my first week of the two month holiday to take a rest after which I will now go out to interesting places with my family members. The first place I would like to go with them is the parks and garden where we will all enjoy ourselves and have fun together. Afterwards, we will go shopping, but I don't think this would be on the same day as I would want us to make use of our time together without managing the time.
Also, I would make sure we visit the cinema to watch the latest movie together. All these are what I'm looking forward to on my first three weeks of our two month holiday. After I might have spent quality time together with them, I mean my immediate family members, I would switch to my friends, I will make sure I receive them with a warm welcome and aside from that. I would also make sure we go out together to spend quality time together, but one thing is that, the time I would be spending with them would be different from that of my family members. This, I will do for two weeks and after that, I will also make sure that I visit my extended family members.
After this, I will be preparing myself for the resumption of work which will be in a week's time.
In conclusion, all that I have listed above are what I'm looking forward to as we are approaching the holiday season.
