Greetings!
All my life, I have never worked with a boss like Mrs. Ajao who would always want to exercise her power and authority over her subject. Before she was transferred to our school, we were told that she was alleged of not complying with the civil service rules and regulations and not only that, we were equally told that she's always selling the government properties in the school where she was formally heading as the school principal.
Although, we were told that she wouldn't have done all these atrocities without the backing of the honourable commissioner of education who we were told they have been together for the past two decades.
So, when she was brought to our school, we received her with honour and respect, despite the fact that we have heard about all the atrocities she had committed in her former school, we the members of staff of my great school still welcomed her with love and respect.
We welcomed her with love and respect because we had all tried to shun or overlooked what we have heard about her bad behaviour as said by one of my friends in her former school who told me that,
“Mr. Sam, I just heard that Mrs. Ajao had been transferred to your school, it's well with you people over there ooo.” “Why are you sounding this way?” I asked. “Nothing, just that you will get to know in due course,” she said.
Although she was not the only one that has told me or any members of staff of my school this before, we have heard a lot about her and we have really prepared and positioned ourselves for the worst that can even happen.
So, after welcoming her with funfair, we all went back to our various staff rooms and for those that have classes, they went to the classes they have to teach the students what they have prepared for them, however, before the end of the day's work, this woman, Mrs. Ajao called for a management meeting where she addressed them, but that's none of our business as the junior staff of the school.
It's after they were done with their management meeting that information began to leak out to us about the outcome of the meeting. You know when there's a meeting like that, information would surely leak out as there's no secret anywhere.
The piece of information that had reached us was that, the woman said that,
“I will not condone any form of nonsense from any of you and I want you all including the junior staff to take that for me.”
When we heard this, we were not surprised at all and this is because we have heard enough information about her and that even aside, one thing that I so much believed in is that, once I'm doing my work or duties very well, then there should be no cause for alarm.
This was what I had thought within myself not until this woman started her problem. There's no way this woman would not condemn you even if you perform your assignment very well. As if that is not enough, this woman would make sure she frustrates you effort and one other thing is that, you cannot please her, even if you are a man pleaser.
There's a time she queried me for not greeting her, I tried to confront her telling her that greeting her is not part of my official primary assignment, but she would not listen.
This woman was a one woman battalion in her days as our boss, she had no friends and she also refused to join the association of the school principals. Her not joining the association made some of our colleagues at work lose their promotion as they were unable to access the information needed for their promotion to the next grade level just because she thought she was at no one's level.
Although she was reported to the ministry of education for her bad behaviour, no action was taken by the then commissioner who was in a secret affair with this powerful woman of our school. On so many occasions, we learnt that she had elongated her time in service just because of her connection with the people in authority.
However, after the administration of the then government, another government which had no connection with assumed office and when the news of her deeds got to the new commissioner, she was summoned to the ministry. Although, this was done by one of us which she had maltreated just because of her position in the last administration.
So, when she got to the ministry, she was interrogated and it was in the interrogation that she was found guilty of all the charges and allegations leveled against her and since she could not defend herself, she was relieved of her position and was fined for backdating her years of retirement, she was made to pay for all she had done and that was how Mr. Fajinmi, a complete gentleman, was transferred to our school and for all of us, including the students, it was indeed a victory at last for us as a new era begun in our school and there's no more fear of going to work as for her, she's still in jail, serving her jail term for all her atrocities.
