I will spend the whole weekend in Sungai Petani, located in Kedah. My nephew is getting married this weekend. It's incredible how time flies; I can vividly remember the days when I used to carry him and accompany him to the grocery shop

Now he is getting married. I can't help but feel a sense of age catching up with me. Today my mom asked me to bring her to Tanjung Dawai which is 20 minutes away from my nephew's house. Tanjung Dawai is well known for its seafood-based produce, and my mom wanted to buy some to bring back to Kuala Lumpur.

After spending around an hour at Tanjung Dawai, we then head back to my nephew's house. Along the way, I noticed a small roadside stall selling "Air Nira Nipah".

The stall's striking green and yellow color is the main reason why I saw it from afar in the first place. At the stall is a white polystyrene box with "Air Nira Nipah" labelled on the side of the box.

Air Nira Nipah is among the famous beverages available in Kedah. However, it comes with a drawback which is it needs to be consumed within an hour or even less. If left for more than an hour, the drink undergoes fermentation and transforms into vinegar.

At the stall, the Air Nira Nipah is packaged inside a clear plastic tube/container. It was priced at MYR 4 per piece. It was cheaper compared to the one that I previously bought in Kuala Lumpur.

Due to the cheap price, I ended up purchasing two of them: one was chilled while the other was frozen solid. I decided to get the frozen one to store and drink later late at night. I drank the chilled Air Nira and it was refreshing and delicious.
