Una pizzería con encanto en La Asunción/A charming pizzeria in Asunción 🍕😋

Sin duda alguna Margarita tiene muchas cosas que ofrecer, no solo playas y sitios turísticos, sino que donde menos te lo esperas te encuentras con lugarcitos geniales para pasar un buen rato y de paso comer rico, particularmente, hoy les quiero contar de un descubrimiento que hice hace unos días en La Asunción.

Y sí gente, otra vez en La Asuncion, y es que si aún no se han dado cuenta, la amo con locura.

Yes, folks, La Asunción again, because if you haven't noticed yet, I absolutely love it.

Resulta que el fin de semana pasado mi hijo Matías debía reunirse con un compañero de clases para realizar un trabajo del liceo, y como era muy cerquita de La Asunción, decidí ir con mi esposo a llevarlo y dar un paseo mientras él hacía su trabajo.

El caso es que esta vez me dediqué a caminar por otras zonas, ya que generalmente me quedo por los alrededores de la plaza, pero como estaba acompañada decidí caminar un poquito más y visitar un lugar que me trae muy buenos recuerdos, y se trata del Puente Colonial, que tiene por nombre "4 de Mayo de 1810", y aunque mi idea era tomar fotitos del puente y sus alrededores, porque la verdad es una zona muy linda, al llegar nos encontramos con un lugarcito llamado Zonahappy y me distraje por completo.

It turns out that last weekend my son Matías had to meet up with a classmate to do some schoolwork, and since it was very close to La Asunción, I decided to go with my husband to take him there and go for a walk while he did his work.

This time, I decided to walk around other areas, since I usually stay around the plaza, but since I was accompanied, I decided to walk a little further and visit a place that brings back fond memories: the Colonial Bridge, named "4 de Mayo de 1810" (May 4, 1810). and although my idea was to take pictures of the bridge and its surroundings, because it's really a very beautiful area, when we arrived we found a little place called Zonahappy and I was completely distracted.

Se trata de una pequeña pizzería ubicada en una callecita justo a un lado del puente colonial en la que a través del tiempo han funcionado diferentes locales de comida, pero mis recuerdos del lugar se trasladan a mi infancia, ya que en él se encontraba un parquecito y mis padres nos llevaban a mis hermanas y a mí a jugar, pero volviendo al tema, esta pizzeria fue todo un descubrimiento porque tienen horno a leña, y ya solo por eso decidí que debemos ir todos a probar las pizzas.

El local funciona en la planta baja de una casa de dos plantas y tiene dos ambientes, uno exterior que se encuentra al aire libre al ladito de la plazoleta donde antes quedaba el parque, y la otra bajo techo y con aire acondicionado, pero definitivamente yo preferiría estar afuera porque todo el entorno es realmente encantador.

It's a small pizzeria located on a little street right next to the colonial bridge, where different restaurants have operated over time, but my memories of the place go back to my childhood, as there was a small park there and my parents used to take my sisters and me to play. But back to the topic at hand, this pizzeria was quite a discovery because they have a wood-fired oven, and for that reason alone, I decided that we should all go and try the pizzas.

The restaurant is on the ground floor of a two-story house and has two areas, one outside next to the small square where the park used to be, and the other indoors with air conditioning, but I would definitely prefer to sit outside because the whole setting is really charming.

La callecita de piedras es angosta, al igual que la mayoría de las calles de La Asuncion, y todas las construcciones al rededor conservan la arquitectura colonial que se puede apreciar en todo el casco histórico, así que la verdad, estar afuera en ese lugar con las bombillas colgando encima de tí ya es toda una experiencia, pero hablemos un poco de qué ofrecen, porque aunque la especialidad son las pizzas en el menú incluyen merengadas, helados, ofrecen también dulces y postres, además de raciones de tequeños y papas fritas.

En cuanto a los precios me parecieron bastante accesibles, de hecho tienen una promoción realmente genial de dos pizzas familiares (pepperoni y margarita) más un refresco de 1.5 litros, lo que para nuestra familia es perfecto, así que definitivamente tenemos que ir los 4 y ver qué tal el sabor de las pizzas para poder recomendarlo, pero sin dudas es un lugarcito bien encantador que vale la pena visitar.

The cobbled street is narrow, like most streets in La Asunción, and all the buildings around it retain the colonial architecture that can be seen throughout the historic center. So, honestly, just being outside in that place with the light bulbs hanging above you is quite an experience, but let's talk a little about what they offer, because although the specialty is pizza, the menu also includes merengadas, ice cream, sweets, and desserts, as well as tequeños and French fries.

I found the prices to be quite affordable. In fact, they have a really great promotion of two family-size pizzas (pepperoni and margarita) plus a 1.5-liter soda, which is perfect for our family. So, the four of us definitely have to go and see how the pizzas taste so we can recommend it, but it's undoubtedly a charming little place that's worth visiting.
