A friend makes the burdens lighter and the long waits more bearable and it was for that reason that I was so insistent that my friend Claudimar enroll one of her children in the chess academy. She needed extra company for the long tournaments!
Happy #familyandfriends day, I hope you are doing great. Today I wanted to share with you my experience in the second chess tournament of this year in which my son Matías participated, and if you have read me before you know that they are usually quite long days, so more than a tournament it is a day to share with friends because the kids go to play and the family members are left out.
Luckily this time it was not a classical chess tournament but the Blitz mode which consists of much more "fast " games, and yes, so in quotation marks because although its duration in this opportunity would be 4 minutes, each move added 3 seconds to the game, so that easily those 4 minutes became 20, but definitely nothing to do with the hour that usually lasts a classical game!
This time the tournament was held at the mini mall Rattan Hyper Market on Friday 14 at 3 pm, and if there is something I love about this world of chess is their responsibility in terms of schedules, they are extremely punctual and that makes me happy!
As for me, as soon as I heard about the tournament, of course I agreed with my friend Claudimar to sign up Matias and Cesar, which would be the perfect opportunity to catch up, because during Easter we could not see each other due to the visit of his mother and of course he dedicated all his attention to her.
So as you can imagine there was a lot to talk and share, especially because although we are on the same floor where the activity is taking place, we are not allowed to approach the tables as this can break your concentration. But don't worry, it's not boring at all, on the contrary! While they play, the mommies take advantage of the time.
We decided to go down to the super market to buy some snacks and we came across some Solera beers that we had not tried before and we decided to try on the recommendation of our companion at that time (one of the organizers of the event), so after shopping we sat in the cafeteria area to talk and refresh ourselves a little to return to the activity and find out how the children were doing.
And we were pleasantly surprised, because this time the children did quite well and although they did not take the first places they managed to accumulate a total of four rounds won each, out of a total of nine, so both for them and for us the day was successful because we can see that over the days the children have been improving and moving up positions on the leaderboard.
Claudi and I also managed to catch up and organize an outing for the next day with the kids, so from my point of view it was a great afternoon that confirms once again that you don't need much to have an amazing time, because friends just make everything better!

Feliz día amigos de #familyandfriends, espero se encuentren súper bien. El día de hoy quise compartir con ustedes mi experiencia en el segundo torneo de Ajedrez de éste año en el que participó mi hijo Matías, y si me han leído antes saben que suelen ser jornadas bastante largas, por lo que más que un torneo es un día para compartir entre amigos pues los chicos se van a jugar y los familiares quedamos fuera.
Por suerte en ésta oportunidad no se trataba de un torneo de ajedrez clásico sino de la modalidad Blitz que consiste en partidas mucho más "rápidas", y sí, así entre comillas porque aunque su duración en esta oportunidad sería de 4 minutos, cada jugada le sumaba 3 segundos a la partida, por lo que fácilmente esos 4 minutos se convertían en 20, pero definitivamente nada que ver con la hora que suele durar una partida del clásico!
En esta oportunidad el torneo se desarrolló en el mini centro comercial Rattan Hyper Market el día viernes 14 a las 3 de la tarde, y si hay algo que amo de este mundo del ajedrez es su responsabilidad en cuanto a los horarios, pues son extremadamente puntuales y eso ya me hace feliz!
Por mi parte en cuanto supe del torneo, por supuesto que me puse de acuerdo con mi amiga Claudimar para inscribir a Matías y César, lo que sería la oportunidad perfecta para ponernos al día, pues en Semana Santa no pudimos vernos debido a que recibió la visita de su mamá y por supuesto le dedicó toda su atención a ella.
Así que como podrán imaginarse había mucho por conversar y compartir, sobre todo porque aunque estamos en el mismo piso donde se desarrolla la actividad, no se nos permite acercarnos a las mesas pues esto puede desconcentrarlos. Pero no se preocupen que para nada es aburrido, todo lo contrario! Mientras ellos juegan las mamitas aprovechamos el tiempo.
Decidimos bajar a la parte del súper mercado para comprar algunos snacks y se nos atravesaron unas cervezas de la marca Solera que no habíamos probado antes y que decidimos probar por recomendacion de nuestra acompañante en ese momento (una de las organizadoras del evento), así que después de las compras nos sentamos en el area del cafetín a conversar y refrescarnos un poco para regresar a la actividad y saber cómo les estaba yendo a los niños.
Y nos encontramos con una grata sorpresa, pues en ésta oportunidad a los niños les fué bastante bien y aunque no se llevaron los primeros lugares lograron acumular un total de cuatro rondas ganadas cada uno, de un total de nueve, por lo que tanto para ellos como para nosotras la jornada fué exitosa pues podemos ver que con el pasar de los días los niños han ido mejorando y subiendo puestos en la tabla de posiciones.
Además Claudi y yo logramos ponernos al día y organizar una salida para el día siguiente con los niños, así que desde donde yo lo veo fue una tarde genial que me confirma una vez más que no se necesita de mucho para pasar un rato increíble, porque los amigos simplemente hacen que todo sea mejor!
