Who knows making ghee would be so easy. If I knew this earlier I would never buy high-priced ghee from super shops!

All you need is Milk or Milk Solids. I prefer using milk solids.

Don't know, what is Ghee?

It's something like melted butter but the taste is not the same. We prepare it usually from milk solids. It's more like a clear form of butter. This is one of our traditional ingredients, very popular around India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh.

If you never tasted Ghee before then I would strongly suggest you try this. Because the taste is nothing like butter, it will bring a wholly different experience to your tastebuds. Also, you can add ghee to different dishes and desserts too.

The process is just three steps, anyone can do this. Let me show you!

Step One

Remove the milk solids from milk. There will be a layer of solids after you boil the milk. I usually collect the solids for several days and preserved them in the fridge and when it's enough amount then I made the ghee.

Step Two

Separate the milk solids with a hand or mixture and put them in the pan with low heat. It will take just a few minutes to separate the liquid fats from the solids.

I used an aluminum pan, you use any kind of pan you have.

Step Three

Use a strainer and pour the liquid fat into a bowl or jar. And you are done.

You can preserve this for at least a few months on the fridge and around a month outside the fridge.

I had this jar of ghee from the market, now it's empty so I use this one again.

If you are wondering what we can do with the solids as leftover. Well just add sugar and it will become a great dessert. Believe me!

So that's it...
Simple yet very useful and delicious. Give it a try!
