I met this cockerel in the autumn . At first I heard an unintelligible whistle, like the creaking of unlubricated parts of the undercarriage of the car. And then I saw something big fly by.

The bird flew away, but I still found him. And as soon as he saw me, this male flew back where I saw him for the first time. So I had to pretty much run back and forth. Actually, I think my heavy breathing can be heard on the video.

But then I still managed to hide behind a tree broken by the winds and take these photos and videos. The hazel grouse was sitting on logs and branches, probably waiting for something, and if you listen carefully, you can hear the barely audible whistle of another hazel grouse, after which he flew away in the direction of the sound.
