🦉 The white wagtail (Motacilla alba)
📚 Motacilla lat .: mōto, mōtare move continuously, -cilla tail (cilla like a tail - only in ornithology, erroneous established name)
📚 alba (lat.) white
Despite the fact that these birds have practically become synanthropes (city dwellers), they are also found in the wild.
Once in the spring, as soon as it became dry from the melted snow, I went to the forest after a long winter. At this time, it is very cool, because you can reach places that you can’t get to in winter because of snow, and in summer because of thickets.
There is one well-hidden place in the forest, a small stream flows there.
There I saw this wagtail. She walked in shallow water in search of food. And quite successfully, having thoroughly eaten, she flew away.
