As I have already told you more than once, in my favorite forest there live wild squirrels who are not used to seeing people, so they are afraid of them. I don’t know how many years they have been living here, but the first time I saw them was probably in 2008. And in those years they lived very far in the forest, where there were coniferous trees.

I was not lazy and found photos of those places. Summer 2010

By the way, here is one of the squirrels. Yes, in those years, phone cameras (I had a PDA back then) were bad.

I made a visual route of their migration. Over these years, the squirrels wandered to different parts of the forest. And as a result, today they covered a distance of about 4 km (on the map a little lower, it was not possible to cover the entire map area).

In total, it turns out that now they can be found in the place where the old cemetery and the entrance to the forest are located. Actually, this spring and summer I met them here.

What is the reason for their relocation? I'm thinking about finding new feeding places and breeding. There are more of them, which means they are forced to look for new feeding places. And the cemetery is a great place. After all, thanks to traditions here, people leave different foods on graves, and they can also visit bird feeders and eat seeds and nuts.
