🦉 The common whitethroat or greater whitethroat (Curruca communis)

• Curruca is an unidentified bird name mentioned in the poems of the ancient Roman poet Juvenal
• communis (lat.) ordinary, common.

This gray bird appears in the vicinity of my city in late April or early May, depending on the weather. These birds are easy to spot. The male sits in the bushes, which do not yet have dense vegetation, and sings songs, jumping back and forth on the branches.

At these moments you can approach him, but be careful. If you hear a dissatisfied grunt, it means the bird is agitated because you have violated his "comfort zone". You should take a few steps back.
By the way, it is easier to distinguish a male and a female by their characteristic feature: the male raises the feathers on his head, and it seems that his head is triangular.
