🦉 The Siberian stonechat or Asian stonechat (Saxicola maurus)

  • Saxicola (lat ): saxum rock, stone, -cola inhabitant
  • maurus (lat.): Moorish, black

As I have said many times, these birds live in open spaces such as fields and meadows. Where there are no tall trees, but rather tall grass and bushes. However, these birds are quite unpretentious and can huddle in a small area. I met these young guys in the forest, yes, to be more precise, the forest has a small open place on top of a hill. And this territory is enough for this bird to live there.

The birds, in their usual manner, sat on the stems of plants, as always. The parents were somewhere nearby, hunting insects.
Seeing me, the female flew in and carefully watched my movements, notifying her children and the male about this.
