These birds arrive, so to speak, in the second wave of those returning from wintering. Around the very end of April or beginning of May, depending on weather conditions. After all, sometimes it can be that at the end of April it snows and it's cold. In any case, the most important factor for these birds is the appearance of insects.

And it is one of the few birds that can eat frost-resistant insects, such as stink bugs (Heteroptera), which most birds avoid.
Nests are made in old hollows of other birds, as well as various holes in trees, such as crevices.
