It has been a long time since I went to my training hill, but man it felt good being there. While there is still some bitterness with regards to the cancer and the impact it has on our family , today I somewhat felt like the old me. Being active in nature and basicly completely in the moment.
Last week there was quite some discussion if my wife would be able to do the 8 and last chemotherapy. But on Tuesday she just went for it. We did had to scale down to 80% of the amount - but still so very proud of her. Hopefully this fight will be alright in the end. Our week was intense, her body and mind basicly broke, mentally it became very difficult when news broke out a dutch tv personality last her battle to cancer and leaving a kid in the same age as our oldest. Just a terrible disease.
My own parents reached out to me this week to offer to have my kids for this afternoon so I could get some rest myself. I gladly took them on the offer so my daughters are enjoying themselves and their grandparents and I could go for this run!
My aim today was just 60 min on the feet, hill work. Pace and reps doesnβt matter as I need to rebuild it slowely in order to avoid injuries.
It was so much fun being out there again! Hopefully I can continue to find these moments so I can build towards the Jungfrau Marathon again!
