For example, a recipe that I had pending to make is another one that my friend Rosi taught me. It was very funny when we were making it at her house, because we didn't know what to call the recipe. We used to call him "falso quesillo" 🤭 Why? Because although it doesn't have condensed milk, evaporated milk or cream, it tastes a lot like a quesillo, it cooks just like a quesillo, but it also tastes a little like a flan and has the texture of a flan... Anyway, the Chavo, well (it is lemon, it looks like Jamaica, but it tastes like Tamarindo 😂).
And this is another of the benefits that cooking has and that I continue to learn in the practice of it: if any ingredient is missing, you can still create a delicious dish by looking for other options.
Likewise, as I practice my mind does not stick to a recipe, but I trust more in the textures, flavors and my taste 🤩 So I did with this recipe, I kept adding and trying until I felt the flavor and sweetness I wanted.
It's very simple and quick, as everything is processed in the blender and are basic ingredients. You won't have to look for a spoonful of the ashes of the phoenix or the frosting of a unicorn, nothing like that 😂, relax. What does take a little longer is the baking.
Don't miss out on it 😉.
Ingredients:
For the mixture:
🔸400 grams of pumpkin
🔸2 eggs
🔸1 teaspoon of cinnamon
🔸4 tablespoons of wheat flour
🔸4 tablespoons powdered milk
🔸1 cup sugar
🔸1 cup water
🔸1 pinch of salt
For the caramel:
🔸1 small cup sugar
🔸1 small cup of water
Ingredientes:
Para la mezcla:
🔸400 gramos de auyama
🔸2 huevos
🔸1 cucharadita de canela
🔸4 cucharadas de harina de trigo
🔸4 cucharadas de leche en polvo
🔸1 taza de azúcar
🔸1 taza de agua
🔸1 pizca de sal
Para el caramelo:
🔸1 taza pequeña de azúcar
🔸1 taza pequeña de agua
In a pot with enough water, I boiled the pumpkin until it was soft. Then I set aside on a plate to let it cool down.
I made the caramel in my cheese maker with the cup of sugar and the cup of water. Normal as you would make a caramel.
While it was cooking, put all the other ingredients in the blender: the pumpkin, eggs, milk, cinnamon, flour, sugar, salt and water.
Process everything and when the caramel was ready, pour the mixture into the quesillera.
I covered it and placed it in a bain-marie inside a pot on the stove.
I was constantly checking to see if it was ready, but it took two hours of cooking.
The wait was worth it because it was.... 🤤
Mind you, it lasted longer cooking than it did in the fridge 🤭 I hope you liked this process, that you can make it and enjoy it with your family. Good luck for the rest of the week 💜
La espera valió la pena porque quedooooo.... 🤤
