You know how you're just sitting down at a place and then all of a sudden, you get this random thoughts of something that once happened in the past and we have no idea why our brain decided to replay such memory.
Well it's currently 1:50am (Nigeria time) and I just had one of those. And though I will be posting this later in the day, I'm currently sitting on my bed and typing away on my phone with blood on my hands (literally) because I just killed a mosquito just because I don't want to forget about this when I wake up much later in the morning.
Anyways, I'm sure you guys must be dying to know what the random memory that popped up my mind is. Well some few years back, while I was still in highschool, I wasn't always the brightest student in class. So it was time for exams and my school had a system for writing exams. We had this big hall where everyone sits to take their exams but just before you enter the hall, you're given a seat number. That way, they get to place you far away from your classmates.
Well we all got into the hall after receiving our number and as we all got seated, I realized one of my classmates was sitting really close to me. The school must have made a mistake or something but who cared, I know I didn't.
Anyways, so the exam started and everyone is writing, everyone except me because for some reasons, none of the three pages I read came out as a question. So here I was, watching "my friend" and my soon-to-be saviour writing as if he was copying the answer out of an invisible book right in front of him.
"Daniel, number one, have you done number one?" I whispered to Daniel but there was no response. "It must be the exam pressure" I thought or maybe he's too focused on what he's writing and doesn't want to be disturbed so that he doesn't forget the answer he had in his head, it happens. So I decide to wait a little while. "Pssst Daniel, number one, have you answered number one?" I asked again.
This time, he gave me the respect by looking at me, then he shook his head, telling me he hasn't done number one.
"Okay, cool. There are four other questions aside from number one" I said to myself again. "Which of the numbers have you answered?" I whispered again, this time I was desperate to write anything even if it was number 5c.
"I'm not done, when I'm done, I will let you know." Daniel whispered back to me, giving me all the assurance I needed so I relaxed. By the time he was done, I would have series of answers to copy. I'm a fast writer so that wouldn't be a problem.
Ladies and gentlemen, words couldn't describe how I felt when I saw Daniel stand up from his seat and go submit his answer sheet to one of the teachers. He made sure to avoid any form of eye contacts with me as he walked out of the hall. "Oohh have I ever felt so betrayed.."
Tears nearly fell off my eyes but then I needed my eyes to be as clear as ever because I needed to look for someone else to copy from, so I silently consoled myself and got to work but not before I sworn to get back at Daniel.
Few days later and I decided to let the whole thing slide but I knew deep down there was no way I was ever sitting close to Daniel ever again. Even if the school placed us together on the same seat, I would run far away from him for the man was evil.
