So there's a new thing in town now (well, I can't necessarily say it's new, but I did recently find out it), and it's called the pick-me culture. It's a term being used when someone tries too hard to be chosen by the opposite gender by sometimes not supporting their own gender to please the opposite one.

And I came to know about this on TikTok where I had seen a ridiculous video made by a lady who was a Nigerian version type of feminist. Adding the Nigerian part is very important because the people who claim to be feminists over here don't even know what the word means. They just support anything that's in favor of women and basically just hate men.

After I had watched that video, I had gone to the comment section, where a comment from a lady had caught my eye. She had started her text by saying, “Although I know you people would call me a pick-me lady, I do not in any way agree with what this lady had said in this video.”

So I had immediately gone on the internet and searched for the meaning of pick-me. But you see, you know what's crazy: the fact that there's now a term for something like that.

And I say this because how did we get here? When did this country get so bad that right now, disagreeing with someone who is of the same gender as you is now considered a bad thing? How did we get to a position where the topic of discussion and just pure reasoning no longer matter?

Because tell me why a lady would make a comment like “I don't like wearing makeup like the other girls do,” and something like this would not only be seen as you trying to impress the guys but also as you throwing the other women who enjoy wearing makeup under the bus.

It's crazy I tell you, and for some reason I just have this gut feelings that more crazier things are also on their way.
