Are rules really made to be broken?
I for one thinks that this world has way too many rules for someone who has only a few years to live on this earth before old age comes and does it thing.
I'm sure if there is one regret old people all have in common, it will be not doing some certain things that they wanted to do when they were young because they were too busy following the rules and trying not to do something because they were too scared and bothered about what other people would think and say.
The truth is that when you really sit down to think about how short our time on earth can be, then you really wouldn't care about some petty stuff and just do you. Things like going out and having fun with friends wouldn't seem like a big deal to you anymore.
Unfortunately, to some people, all of this are mere words that probably wouldn't move them until they lose someone close to them and death reminds them about their mortality and then they start seeing things a little bit clearer.
I remember when a friend of mine used to try and persuade me to come visit her. We used to live at the same hostel and were closed friends until she moved out and I just couldn't make out time to go see her new place, not because I was too busy with something important but because I am the type that rarely leave my home and I felt I had all the time in the world to visit her whenever I wanted.
Then one evening I got news about another friend of mine who just died from illness. I had no idea he was ill not to talk of dying and that just made me see things in a whole different light. The news about his death sent shivers down my spine and that just made me realize that we might think there's enough time but there really isn't.
Death is so random that we just don't know who is going next. That incident made me pick up my phone and call my friend to fix a date on me visiting.
At the end of it all, all I'm saying is have fun and do what makes you happy as long as you ain't hurting someone else in the process because there just might not be enough time for that in the future.
