Before visiting the sheriff, I scavenged using overhead wires while dodging spitting infected. Realizing it was late, I slept at the power plant safe house. The next morning, I escaped aggressive infected by leaping into a lake, swam across, and discovered armed bandits had taken over an inn.
Before heading over to see the sheriff, I decided to search the area for a few more valuables. I began using the overhead wires attached to the utility poles to travel smoothly from one post to another.
Looking down, I could see that the ground below was completely overrun with infected, including a distant special mutant that kept hurling toxic vomit at me from a long range.
I pulled out my binoculars to scan the surrounding rooftops for any surviving humans, but I did not spot anyone in the immediate area. However, I did notice an inn situated a short distance away, so I decided to make that my next destination.
To reach it, I had to rely on the high-wire cables once again. The zipline route eventually brought me to a pole right next to the power plant where I had previously fought off the Baron's men.
The inn looked fairly close from there. Checking the time, I realized it was already three forty in the afternoon.
Since the surrounding zone was packed with high-level monsters that I certainly did not want to deal with alongside Volatiles after dark, I decided to head down into the power plant safe house. I let Kyle sleep through the night and waited for the sun to rise before heading back out.
The next morning, I stepped out of the safe house and made my way toward the location of the inn. Upon arrival, I found the surrounding area crawling with aggressive infected, forcing me to prioritize my own safety before moving any closer.
Although I assumed I was standing on safe ground, a nearby booster managed to leap all the way up onto the high platform I was using for cover. The creature began attacking me immediately, leaving me with no choice but to jump off the elevated structure and plunge into the lake below to escape the infected' s reach.
Fortunately, the infected were unable to pursue me once I reached the deep water. I swam safely across to the opposite bank and immediately sprinted toward the inn, hoping to avoid attracting any more boosters or standard biters along the way.
Just as I reached the outer perimeter of the inn, a group of infected began chasing me from behind. I quickly climbed up a street light pole to get out of their reach, only to look inside the building and discover a group of armed bandits who had already taken complete control of the establishment.
