Joke… or reflection? + ¿Chiste… o reflexión? [Eng+Spa]

I recently saw a short story, which was meant to be a joke, but it left me with several things to reflect on, and I wanted to share it:

An elderly man sits next to his young grandson and gives him advice: “I always wanted to be SOMEONE in life, but now I realize I should have been more specific…”

Vi hace poco un corto relato, que pretendía ser un chiste, pero me dejó varias cosas para reflexionar, y quise compartirlo:

Un anciano se sienta junto a su nieto pequeño y le da consejos: «Siempre quise ser ALGUIEN en la vida, pero ahora me doy cuenta de que debí haber sido más específico…»
