JOHN DID IT!!!
Once again, it was the annual school inter-house sports competition. The school is made up of different houses ranging from white, blue, red, green and yellow houses.
As usual, there were different kinds of sports. There was the racing kind, the long jumps, high jumps and other sports which the students were going to participate in.
It was a very exciting moment for the students who had been practicing hard and preparing for this day to come. They all had set their eyes on winning the gold medal.
John, a student in the yellow house who was supposed to participate in the 100m race had a cut on his leg the previous day before the competition but he didn't give up due to his injury he was also hoping to win a medal not just any but the gold medal.
When the 100m race started, John had faith in himself that he was going to be victorious. He ran like he never did before using all his might, he didn't let the pain weigh him down.
He saw that he was being outrun by another fast runner which would leave him in second place, he pushed harder and overtook the student in front and he became first. He won the race and other games and he got awarded the gold medal.
He felt a sense of accomplishment as everyone including his fellow house mates and teachers cheered him on as he stood with the medal around his neck. He was happy he didn't back down despite the pain he was having, he came out victorious.
That day became a memory for him to keep as he placed the medal on the shelf in his room, looking at it would make him smile and think back to how he won and the cheers he got. John was proud of himself but his family were prouder.
