His teachers, friends, and even parents had tried talking to him, to let him understand that everything in life is seasonal and that he needs to learn humility.
One faithful day, a new student came into the school and he is very average academically. His name is Kevin and he had heard about how good Daniel is academically and this left a very good first impression that led to admiration. However when he eventually got to meet Daniel, he was very disappointed as he was very rude and arrogant.
Kevin decided to study very hard so he could also be one of the best students in school. He had to put in a lot of work and dedication as he wants to be the best.
Eventually, Kevin became on par with Daniel and at some point Daniel too had to sit up in order not to lose his position as being the best. Kevin was pleased with himself as his dedication and hard work was paying off while Daniel realized that there is always going to be someone better than him if he continues slacking.
Daniel made the decision to change for good and he started putting in the works because he realized that while first impression matters, one should never judge a book by its cover.
