Sometimes, the simplest things can bring back memories that we thought we had forgotten.
This morning, I looked at this small yellow helicopter sitting on the table. It is only a toy, but somehow it caught my attention. The bright yellow body, the little black rotor, and the tiny landing gear reminded me of how fascinating simple toys could be when I was a child.
When we are young, we do not need expensive things to feel happy. A small toy could become an airplane, a helicopter, a car, or even a spaceship in our imagination. We could spend hours creating stories around it. The living room could become an airport, the floor could become a runway, and a simple toy could take us anywhere.
As we grow older, life becomes different. We become busy with work, responsibilities, money, and many other problems. Sometimes we forget how important it is to stop for a moment and enjoy something simple.
Looking at this helicopter made me realize that happiness does not always come from having something valuable. Sometimes happiness comes from remembering a feeling.
The helicopter cannot really fly, but my imagination can still take it somewhere.
It reminds me that life should not always be about chasing bigger goals. We also need small moments that make us smile.
A cup of coffee in the morning, an interesting photograph, a conversation with someone we care about, or even an old-fashioned toy can be enough to make an ordinary day feel special.
Perhaps that is why I like taking photographs of simple things. Behind an ordinary object, there can be a story, a memory, or a feeling waiting to be discovered.
This little yellow helicopter may just be a toy on a table.
But for a moment, it became a reminder that growing older does not mean we have to leave our imagination behind.
Sometimes, we just need to let ourselves fly again.
