What a nice theme for this week's @qurator's Photo Quest: Gardens!
I'm a huge nature fan, and when I'm visiting a city, the urban parks and the gardens normally work as my getaway when I get tired of all the "civilization", something that happens quite easily.
Fortunately for me, some of the city gardens are nothing short of stunning, and in some cases, were the city's main attraction. And in this case, it's not only my opinion! Supertrees, anyone?
Anyone that has been in Singapore will immediatly recognize them, but for those who haven't had the chance to vist this wonder, a quick google search for gardens by the bay will leave your jaw dropped. And yes, these are one of Singapore's crown jewels, if not the biggest of them!
For sure, all gardens have their charm: being nearby centuries-old buildings, in the middle of luxurious jungles somewhere in Asia...
... or even in old Europe, not far from a city centre but with sculptures that even for a non art fan are eye-catching.
I mean, how cool it is to walk a few meters away from a busy street and tall buildings, and step into something like this?
Instant stress-relief, right?
Or maybe is just me. I could probably drop a few hundred photos of all the gardens and city parks I've visited throughout these years, but I believe these small samples prove my point. And of course, city parks and gardens are normally filled with critters, big and small, so wildlife watching comes as an added bonus while admiring the plants and the trees.
No questions asked, though: Gardens by the bay take the podium on the most fascinating gardens I've visited. Not only they're huge, they also come with a few surprises: would you imagine being able to be inside a clouded forest when you visit them??
Well... you can!
You can even time your visit and experience the misting, and be surrounded with an atmosphere like this:
I could spoil the experience a little more, but hope the tiny sample made you want to put these gardens on your travel map one day.
And maybe you also visited some awesome gardens and can let me know about it? ๐
