Been sooo long since I joined SMAP! I hope that in less than 2 months, I'll have added a ton of new bird photos to my portfolio - and hopefully, a alot of new species! But while that moment doesn't come...

Summer time seems to finally be going away; it's still warm while the sun is out, but as the golden hour approaches you realise we're not in t-shirt weather any more. And that makes visiting places like

After a crazy work week, getting back on a plane seems perfect. Even more so if the why is a getaway like this. I have a lot of family in the south of France, that I don't see nearly as often as I wanted.

Well, I've been through this before: amazing vacations, return to work, a ton of moving parts to juggle, and how much time flew by in the meanwhile?? The days in this paradise seemed to stretch longer,

Now that I think of it, cats fit right in these amazing greek islands. Lazy days, warmth, plenty of sun... and human watching! Cats seem to be everywhere in these islands. And unlike most portuguese street

Moving on is more often than not a good thing. And a change of places, people and landscapes sometimes feels like a breath of fresh air. In this case, it's a huge part of enjoying life. So, I moved on

At last! Nature's scents, sunsets, mountain rivers, family and friends: we don't need that much more, do we? My last getaway to one of my favorite places was too quick, but fortunately now I have a few

Looking ahead, past the next crazy work week that awaits me. Maybe not as thoughtfully as the lonely bird, but still. Because beyond that week, lies what will hopefully a blissfull period of dolce fare

I almost forgot to join the fun in this week's Qurator's Photo Quest, and glad I didn't. Because this week's theme is one of my favourite nature's shows: sunsets! The colours in the sky as the big star

Two participations in a row in my favourite Hive contest! Let's see if I can continue the trend! :) For this week's SMAP, the theme remains free; and I'll focus in a special bird, one that was not that

The title is a portuguese saying, that translates to half of the world is fooling the other half. And lately, felt it in one of the usual suspects of said fooling... such that I decided to rant a little

Some animals come in two versions; and for this week's SMAP, we have one of our feathered friends in its big and small formats! Truth be told, they are two separate species, with their subtle differences:

Big Beach is the literal translation of Praia Grande, the name of this beach not far away from the westernmost tip of Europe. A few km north of Cabo da Roca (the said westernmost tip of Europe) there are

I had the opportunity of doing some nature walks in my last vacations not that long ago, but this nature surely hits different. Maybe it's the amount of childhood memories I have from this place, or even

Taking advantage of the free theme for this week's SMAP, let me show you a couple more species I've found in my last vacations. Truth be told, the first one can be found throughout all the country, even

The end of another vacations, and me already longing for the next ones. So yes, these ones are still very fresh in my memory, yet still a perfect fit for a #monomad challenge. This time, it will be a 100%

I recently returned from a calm week of vacations; I was looking torwards beach days and the dolce fare niente. That's what I got; and on top of that, I also had a couple bonus birdwatching sessions! Since

My favourite beaches in the country lie more to the southwestern side, but there no denying that some of our most beautiful beaches (and we have tons of them!) are in the South. And today, you'll meet

Finally, vacations! About time I had some time off: one full week of relaxation, reading, and doing absolutely nothing, while soaking sun at the beach. This part of the country is known for its beaches,

Well, don't really know how good of a guardian are they... but they'll have to do. Since the theme for this week's SMAP is free, I'll place in the spotlight these beauties that stood in Nile's margin,
