I almost forgot to join the fun in this week's Qurator's Photo Quest, and glad I didn't. Because this week's theme is one of my favourite nature's shows: sunsets!
The colours in the sky as the big star fades in the horizon are simply stunning, no matter where you are watching the show from. Of course, some locations and conditions do make the experience even better. Beaches and scattered cloulds are one of my favourite combos for this.
The show lingers even when the sun is gone from sight, so plenty of time to enjoy.
A good thing to add to the aforementioned combo of beaches and scattered clouds? Lack of people or man-made stuff. A good deal of times you can't get all you wanted, but even so, just a few of those conditions are close enough.
Sometimes, the opposite is true: the silhouettes of people enjoying the warm waters of a tropical beach at sunset are an added bonus to the overall composition of the photography; I do prefer near-desert places, but no arguing it looks good on camera.
Hell, even without beaches sunsets look cool! How about the setting in a swimming pool?
Pretty nice, right?
This reminds me my vacations are coming soon, and I do hope to visit some pretty cool beaches... to increase my sunset portfolio for a future contest! :)
