Apreciados amigos, los saludo con afecto sincero en esta ocasión tan especial cuando estoy presentando nuevamente la Columna Autismo: Mundo Azul que desde el 4 de agosto estaba fuera del aire. Estoy muy feliz porque también a través de este espacio azul, creado desde @holos-lotus, me estoy reencontrando con ustedes, mis queridos amigos de hive.

Estamos a poco tiempo de despedir un año y recibir otro, la verdad es que el tiempo pasa más rápido de lo que creemos y es común que al terminar el año reflexionamos sobre ello. Con emoción celebramos las metas alcanzadas y con tristeza lamentamos las incumplidas. Todo esto sucede en el mundo normal o neurotípico y resulta que también en el mundo azul o neuroatípico de quienes tienen TEA, Trastorno del Espectro Autista.

Aunque lo dudemos las personas con autismo tienen aspiraciones, deseos y necesidades importantes. Quizás parecen estar desconectados de la realidad, pero aún las personas con TEA en el grado puro o severo tienen anhelos porque ellos son seres humanos con pensamientos e inquietudes. Por ejemplo, podría mencionar el deseo de aceptación, lo que es una necesidad en la mayoría de estos seres nobles y excepcionales. La inclusión social es muy importante para dar visibilidad a una condición todavía incomprendida que necesita y grita en silencio que acabe su exclusión.

La discriminación es un flagelo que debemos atacar primeramente en el entorno familiar para contribuir al desarrollo emocional de los autistas. Sabemos que el aislamiento es lo que caracteriza al TEA, por lo que del apoyo que reciban las personas con autismo depende la felicidad en su vida diaria. Concienciemos que, si cuentan primeramente con el respaldo que da la aceptación, la comprensión y el estímulo familiar, las personas con autismo verán el cumplimiento de su mayor meta.

En tal sentido, los padres y familiares somos los primeros que debemos ser cuidadosos con el trato hacia las personas con autismo a nuestro cargo. Por supuesto que la sociedad en general también está obligada a dar un trato digno a los autistas, tenerles consideración como ciudadanos que sienten y padecen. La atención respetuosa de la vida autista contribuye en su desarrollo integral y a su vez influye positivamente en su seguridad e independencia.

No reparemos en dar:

Respeto
Amabilidad
Empatía
Comprensión
Consideración
Protección
Tiempo

Tengamos presente que los niños, adolescentes y adultos con autismo, también tienen sus metas y en el nuevo año estemos prestos a ayudarlos para que las vean cumplidas.

Dear friends, I greet you with sincere affection on this special occasion when I am presenting again the Autism: Blue World Column, which has been off the air since August 4. I am very happy because also through this blue space, created from @holos-lotus, I am reconnecting with you, my dear hive friends.

We are just a short time away from saying goodbye to one year and receiving another, the truth is that time passes faster than we think and it is common that at the end of the year we reflect on it. With emotion we celebrate the goals achieved and with sadness we regret the unfulfilled ones. All this happens in the normal or neurotypical world and it also happens in the blue or neuroatypical world of those with ASD, Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Although we may doubt it people with autism have important aspirations, desires and needs. They may seem disconnected from reality, but even people with ASD in the pure or severe degree have longings because they are human beings with thoughts and concerns. For example, I could mention the desire for acceptance, which is a need in most of these noble and exceptional beings. Social inclusion is very important to give visibility to a still misunderstood condition that needs and cries out silently for an end to their exclusion.

Discrimination is a scourge that we must attack first of all in the family environment to contribute to the emotional development of autistic people. We know that isolation is what characterizes ASD, so the support received by people with autism depends on their happiness in their daily lives. Let us be aware that, if they first have the support that gives acceptance, understanding and family encouragement, people with autism will see the fulfillment of their greatest goal.

In this sense, parents and family members are the first ones who must be careful with the treatment of people with autism in our care. Of course, society in general is also obliged to treat autistic people with autism with dignity, to consider them as citizens who feel and suffer. Respectful attention to autistic life contributes to their integral development and in turn positively influences their safety and independence.

Let us spare no expense in giving:

Kindness
Empathy
Understanding
Consideration
Protection
Time

Let us keep in mind that children, adolescents and adults with autism, also have their goals and in the new year let us be ready to help them to see them fulfilled.
