I wanted to take as many photos as possible in the gardens at my grandmother's house in Venezuela. That was back in 2025—last year—when I went to visit my mom. I have a lot of photos, and I’ve selected a few close-ups from my attempt at macro photography. I originally took these in color, but I converted them to grayscale, emphasizing both the shadows and the highlights.

The location was perfect for what I had in mind, and believe me, I’ve barely scratched the surface with the photos shared in this post; behind every image you see here lies a series of over a hundred shots I had to sift through to pick just one or a few. Still, it is fascinating whenever I treat myself to the opportunity to spend plenty of time taking photos intended for Hive—even though the people around me, especially my family, often ask: "What are you taking so many pictures of? Why do you take so many photos?"

Yes, and I would calmly search for subjects among the plant leaves, looking very carefully amidst the trees and shrubs, scrutinizing the branches to find images that seemed perfect for capturing in a photograph.

Since the natural world is as amazing as it is beautiful, I feel we shouldn't miss the chance to admire it. That is why every photo inspires me to appreciate nature more and to learn more about it. All it takes is lifting a leaf, venturing among the branches, having the camera lens focused, and being ready in case one or more subjects appear for a post—or several—on Hive. That is why I am here, showcasing this selection of photos.

Quería tomar todas las fotos que pudiera en los jardines que tiene la casa de mi abuela en Venezuela. Eso fue en el 2025, el año pasado, cuando fui a visitar a mi mamá. Tengo muchas fotos y he elegido unas que tienen acercamiento en mi intento de hacer fotos macro. Estas fotos originalmente las tomé a color, pero las llevé a escala de grises resaltando sombras y también luces.
La locación era perfecta para lo que quería y créanme que me he quedado corta al compartir las fotos que he traído en esta publicación porque detrás de cada foto que verán hay una serie de más de 100 fotos para elegir solo una o unas cuantas. Sin embargo, es fascinante cada vez que me regalo esa oportunidad de pasar un tiempo amplio tomando fotos pesando que serán para Hive, aunque algunas de las personas quienes me ven, sobre todo miembros de mi familia, me dicen: ¿A qué le toma tantas fotos? ¿Por qué toma tantas fotos?
Si, y yo muy tranquila estuve buscando objetivos entre las hojas de las plantas, me fijaba con mucho cuidado entre los árboles y entre los arbustos, escudriñaba entre las ramas encontrando imágenes que me parecieron adecuadas para captarlas en fotos.

Así que, como el mundo natural es tan asombroso como bello siento que no hay que desperdiciar la oportunidad de admirarlo. Por eso cada foto me inspira a valorar más la naturaleza y también a aprender mas sobre ella. Solo basta con levantar una hoja, adentrarnos entre las ramas, tener el lente del cámara graduado, estar listo por si aparece uno o varios protagonistas para una o varias publicaciones en Hive. Por eso estoy aquí exhibiendo esta selección de fotos.
