Very cold here today with intermittent rain,
No way for me to get out, so today I am catching up on office work and outstanding charity matters.
Here's a collection of photos taken on a recent trip through the countryside and I think that you will agree that a trip around here is definitely worth it.
Let's have a look!
Bear in mind that it's winter here, and the road sides will soon be covered in yellows, reds, and a host of other colors.
A Pied Crow resting for a moment!
Did I tell you that it's cold over here?
A lovely winter day moon!
Frontal shot of a Malachite Sunbird!
A squawking Cape Black Crow!
A Springbuck at the roadside!
Back home I played a bit with the moon!
And for the moaners, here's a clear shot!
Africa is known for it's natural grandeur and mostly for the proliferation of it's wildlife.
In my traveling days I have had encounters on the roads with elephants, the odd rhino, giraffes and a host of smaller animals.
But I wonder how long it will stay like this, as this very morning I read how cheetah cubs are stolen and exported. Just as bad is that syndicates are destroying bee hives and stealing the honey for export, killing thousands of bees in the process.
There was an instance up country when poachers poisoned a drinking dam and many elephants died just for their tusks to be stolen. Africa is being raped. It's minerals are stolen and it's animal kingdom is certainly suffering huge losses. Even the kind Giraffes are becoming endangered.
When are we going to wake up in this world?
Mankind is destroying whatever the eye sees and sacrificing it to the money god. Ecosystems are becoming unbalanced and the planet is crying.
Slaughtered trees are whispering; "Bring on the end"
I create these posts as a wake up call and just maybe we might light a flame to bring about a turn around.
Please think about this dilemma!
