Seeing Faces (A Trip to the Park)

Hello everyone! Recently we took a family walk through some historical neighborhoods, and along the way we came across a park. I wanted to share some of the photos that we took during the adventure 📸

This was the park in question 😄 A new park that we had never visited before. The playground offered some pretty cool equipment, including a train with a slide for the pilot, and a carousel. Here, the girls are inside a spinning orb.

This was the carousel that I was referencing. It is very popular. Children can climb inside to sit in the middle, or hang onto the outside as it spins. As a child, I used to love them! As an adult, it doesn't take long for them to make me sick 🤢

I took a photo of a tree that had been planted in the park. This is known as an Eastern Redbud Tree. There was a dedication on the tree; sometimes when a loved one passes away, they will have a tree or bench erected in their memory. I thought the inscription was lovely.

After the park, we took a walk through some of the old neighborhoods in the city. There are many historical remnants and artifacts, old architecture, etc. In fact, just behind an apartment building, I find these very unique stone faces! No idea who they represent, but this was really cool...

The next photo below is one from an old Georgian church. I believe it was a Presbyterian church, first erected in the late 1800s. Unfortunately there was a fire, and it was rebuilt in the 1970s, I believe.

While we were walking, I happened to see this set up at someone's house. It was a Mother's Day decoration 🥹 On the window was the word MOM, lit up with string LED lights, along with a red LED heart in the bush. Of course, the holiday has long since passed, but seeing this made my heart happy. I hope that mom was celebrated honorably!

Within that same block, I saw this at someone's front yard. This is a gate, with beautiful (what I assume is) Roman gladiator armor. I found it very intriguing -- wonderful!

I spotted this alongside the wall of yet another church. The message really speaks to me because I have been working very hard on my faith. I want God to look upon me with favor, and I pray someday I will be worthy in His eyes...

Here is a beautiful Dahlia flower. I'm not too familiar on this variety of flower, but I thought the colors were beautiful. I'm a sucker for peach! 🥹

Finally, a beautiful sunset to end the day 🙏💗 I tell our children that this is a "cotton candy sunset" 😁 It's one of my favorites: soft, pink clouds with a comforting blue undertone.
