Hi bloggers and food lovers! Happy Monday hope you’re having a great day. What snacks have you been enjoying lately? Today I’m making churros again, one of my favorite snacks lately because they’re pretty easy to make and taste great. I bought a piping tip, so the churros turned out nicely shaped and were easier to form this time. The steps are simple too, okay, let’s get started
Ingredients:
Churros:
- 5 tbsp sugar
- 250 ml water
- 4 tbsp margarine
- 20 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs
- cooking oil
- 2 tbsp powdered sugar
Chocolate sauce:
- 250 ml milk
- 2 tbsp creamer
- 1 bar of chocolate
- 1 tbsp cocoa powder
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 50 ml water
Instructions:
Churros:
- Add the sugar, margarine and water to the saucepan
- Turn on the stove and cook all the ingredients over low heat until they dissolve and come to a boil
- Once boiling, turn off the heat and add the all-purpose flour
Mix until the dough is well combined and smooth
Transfer the dough to another bowl and let it cool
- Once cool, crack the eggs and add them one by one to the churros dough
Mix until well combined using a mixer until the texture is neither too runny nor too thick
Transfer the mixture to a piping bag fitted with a piping tip
- Heat cooking oil in a pan
- Cut the tip of the piping bag and pipe the churros into long, thin strips
Fry the churros until they turn golden brown
Remove and drain
Repeat until all the batter is used up
- Sprinkle powdered sugar over the churros
Chocolate Sauce:
Place all ingredients except the cornstarch into a saucepan, then turn the heat to low and stir until the ingredients begin to blend and the chocolate starts to melt. Once all ingredients have dissolved and are well combined, and the mixture begins to boil, add the cornstarch and water mixture to the saucepan and stir until it begins to thicken, then turn off the heat.
Serve the churros with the chocolate sauce and they’re ready to eat!
