The principle of intuitive eating is eating till you are full and not a spoonful more. It is listening to your body and letting it guide you. However it is not an eating plan I completely agree with or one which works 100% of the time. I talk more about that in my video.
The problem with intuitive eating is that many people would begin to under-eat.
A healthy amount of food is 3000 calories a day for men and 2500 for women as a minimum. I know people who eat one banana for breakfast and claim they are full. According to intuitive eating guidelines that is healthy and is all they should eat.
I think if you are going to do intuitive eating you should make sure you are getting a sufficient amount of calories and if you are not you shouldn’t do it.
I also don’t think there is any reason to restrict healthy food that will only benefit you when eaten in abundance.
