A cold and very damp, though not rainy, Samhain morning with a light breeze. Since it’s still vacation time, I hopped on my bike and zoomed over to Jungferneheide Public Park to take a wonderful, relaxing walk beneath a canopy of golden leaves, breathing in the deeply refreshing, crisp, and damp air, and of course, doing some interval walking along the way. Today was also the first day for gloves, especially for biking; the cold and dark season has arrived. I then enjoyed some very relaxing breathing and meditation exercises on the shore of the island, though I’d already done my daily stretching routine at home. Along the way, I tried to capture the wonderful fall atmosphere and bring it back to you, and in the process, I discovered the handiwork of a beaver on the island, which had recently felled three small trees right next to each other.

Ein kalter und sehr feuchter, aber nicht regnerischer Samhainmorgen mit leichtem Wind. Da es immer noch Ferien sind, schwang ich mich aufs Rad und bin zum Volkspark Jungferneheide gedüst, um dort eine großartige, entspannte Runde unter goldenem Blättergewölbe zu gehen, tief herrlich frische und feuchte Luft atmend, teils natürlich im sportlichen Intervall-Walking. Es war auch der erste Tag für Handschuhe heute, speziell fürs Radfahren; die kalte und dunkle Jahreszeit ist angekommen. Sehr entspannende Atem- und Meditationsübungen habe ich dann am Ufer auf der Insel genossen, aber die täglichen Dehn- und Stretchübungen hatte ich schon zu Hause erledigt. Ich habe unterwegs versucht, euch die wunderbare Herbstatmosphäre einzufangen und mitzubringen, und dabei entdeckte ich noch das Werk eines Bibers auf der Insel, der drei kleinere Bäume direkt nebeneinander frisch gefällt hatte.
